LOCTITE® 271™ is particularly suitable for permanent braking and sealing of threaded assemblies. The product polymerizes when confined in the absence of air between metal surfaces with low clearance. It has the function of preventing loosening and leakage due to shock and vibration. It is used for type braking and sealing applications of large diameter screws and studs (up to M25). Recommendations for Implementation Assembly 1. For best results, surfaces should be clean and free of grease (internal and external surface), use Loctite degreasing solvent and then dry perfectly. 2. In the case where the substrate is a metal with little activity, or if the polymerization rate is too slow, spray the activator 7471 (T) or the activator 7649 (N) on all the threads and leave to dry. 3. Shake product vigorously before use. 4. In order to avoid polymerization of the product in the nozzle of the vial, do not touch any metal surface with the end of the bottle during the application of the adhesive. 5. For bolted assemblies, apply several drops of product to the thread of the male part of the bolt at the nut engagement area. 6. For blind threads, apply several drops of product to the threads inside the thread to the bottom of the tap. 7. For sealing applications, apply a 360° cord of product to the male thread, avoiding the first thread. Place it in the bottom of the net to fill the games. In the case of coarse thread or large diameter, put enough product to fill the sets, and additionally apply a 360° cord of product to the thread of the female part. 8. Assemble and tighten. Disassembly 1. Locally heat the screw or nut to about 250°C. Disassemble hot. Cleaning the adhesive 1. The cured product can be removed by immersing the part in a suitable Loctite solvent and rubbing with a metal brush.
